When you are in Rome for a few days – Part I
Maybe Rome is the most popular travel destination in Italy with its history and its art masterpieces. Today’s Rome (Roma, as the Romans say) is a vivid and vibrant city with “souvenirs” of its past splendors anywhere. Within few steps you can see ancient Roman sites, medieval and renaissance buildings, and fountains, and piazzas, and great museums… and more . The city is an open-air museum of history. But It brags excellent restaurants, cafes, and nightlife too. Although Rome is a huge metropolis, the historic center is not so huge, making it easy to visit it easily on foot. Rome limo tours .com recommends at least a stay of 3 full days in Rome. First full day you will check into your hotel and then, probably, you would like to spend some time to roam around the neighborhood nearby your hotel. If you want to see more of the city, you can take a public bus or the subway. As we said, on public transport beware of pickpockets, because in this case an inexpensive way to move around Rome would become very expensive! That’s why we recommend to hire a private driver/guide: definitively the cheapest way to get a carefree overview of Rome. Tip for self-guided tourists: Buy a City Map and a Transportation Map at a newsstand or tourist shop: it could be useful if you want to take a bus or the subway (Metro). You should also buy a Roma Pass (a discount card) to use on transportation and admissions. In the next posts we will guide you through the mot important historic site, museum, churches and nightlife of Rome, Italy. Stay tuned!
