Your next stop is the Trevi Fountain, the most famous and certainly one of the most beautiful fountain in all of Rome; legend has it, that if you toss a coin into the fountain over your left shoulder, as a result, there will be a return to the Eternal City, in your near future.
Finally, in the afternoon is the St. Peter’s Basilica (Vatican), which has the largest interior of any Christian church in the world. It is affirmed as one of the Holiest Catholic sites in the World.
Take time to enter St. Peter’s Basilica and admire the High Renaissance and baroque architecture. The atmosphere is so overwhelming, with its grateness of art and golden details, marble and mosaics. Be sure not to miss Michelangelo’s magnificence, the Pieta, completed when the young master was in his 20s.
*Since there are security checks in the Vatican, and you should expect a wait to enter the Basilica. Time allowed inside the Basilica is based on the required wait time to enter. There is a dress code to respect, to enter the St. Peter’s Basilica. Shorts are not allowed for men or women; as for tank tops, bare shoulders, or short skirts.
*The Vatican is closed on certain Catholic festivities, but it could close unexpectedly for unforeseen reasons. In which case, we will make all the necessary changes and plan the itinerary accordingly.
