Your first stop will be Todi, also known for being the hometown of Jacopone da Todi, a famous Italian poet. Todi is still surrounded by medieval, Roman and Etruscan walls and is a quite a small town, full of famous monuments, such as the amazing medieval Piazza del Popolo and the Renaissance Consolazione Church (project attributed to Donato Bramante).
Todi is famous for the artistic craftsmanship, its genuine food, its strong wines such as Grechetto di Todi and for its warm hospitality.
After Todi our next destination is Spoleto. The perfect place to immerse yourself in Italian history, culture and food. Spoleto has a lots of interesting sites, nice shops, and great restaurants where you can sample the Umbrian cuisine.
Above all, you will find truffles, porcini mushrooms, sausage, salami and roasted meats.
The Duomo is one of Spoleto’s finest venues. It is a mixture of styles, and boasts an apse frescoed by Fra Filippo Lippi, whose tomb lies in the church.
Spoleto is home to two important annual events – the Two Worlds Festival, a celebration of art, music and theater; and the Spoleto Jazz Festival, which bring people from all over the world.
At the end of the tour we will drive you back to Rome.
