on a pleasant 1.5 hour drive to Orvieto, a beautiful village sitting on a “tuff”. This makes for a great stop for lunch with a view!
You can choose between a light lunch at the wine shop on the main square, or some local cuisine in a typical restaurant, carved in the tuff caves.
After lunch, you’ll have time to visit the magnificent cathedral, and you can stroll down Orvieto’s quaint narrow streets filled with colorful shops selling beautiful ceramics.
Orvieto produces one of the most famous Italian white wines!
The wine shop in the square offers the opportunity to taste some of the local wines, as well as to eat some of the prosciutto and cheeses locally produced.
As an alternative, time permitting, you might want to have a more substantial meal and taste some of the region’s renowned outstanding foods at a proper restaurant.
You will then drive towards your destination in Rome, bypassing some beautiful sceneries of the Roman Countryside
