The unofficial reason was that the government was fearing the existence of industrial counter-intelligence. Since the request for such a renowned product has always been very high, as a result, craftsmen were confined to continue their work on Murano Island. And ever since then, the Venice glass work and its factories have continued to flourish, evolving with the art movement throughout the Centuries. Amazing how such a unique tradition, produces beautiful art work for customers all over the World.
