Pompeii and Naples tour from Rome – July 26th 2018 – 5 people
Our English-speaking driver/guide will welcome you in your hotel or any other place of your convenience in Rome at 7.30am (suggested pick up time).
After you will drive directly to Pompeii where you will meet your local, English-speaking guide for your private two hour walking tour through the ruins of this
fascinating ancient city.
Walking through the remains and ruins of this ancient city, you can imagine the everyday life of the Roman Empire and imagine the panic felt by the people in
those last few minutes before the city was so disastrously buried. The volcano buried the city under many feet of ash and it was lost for 1,600 years before its
Enjoy a real journey in search of an ancient civilization destroyed by the terrible eruption of Vesuvius. Pompeii is one of the most significant historic vestiges of
the Roman civilization, and it appears as an exceptional open book on the art, customs, and crafts of the everyday life during that time. Today, Pompeii is one of
Italy’s leading tourist attractions and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After Pompeii, you will drive back to Naples, where you can enjoy a leisurely meal in a local restaurant or a snack at a coffee shop (if you want to be quick!).
After lunch, you can visit the unique archaeological museum, one of the most important Italian archaeological museum, particularly for ancient Roman remains.
Its collection includes works from Greek, Roman and Renaissance times, and especially Roman artifacts from nearby Pompeii, Stabiae and Herculaneum.
It was formerly the Real Museo Borbonico.
If time permits a short visit of the Plebiscito Square, the San Martino Castle, and the thousands of folkloristic little streets and alleys entangled all around the
center of the city. At the end of the tour your English-speaking chauffeur will drive you back to Rome.
