  • Gilberto Stanzioni arranged the perfect tour for our Girls' Getaway Cruise Stop in Sicily. We were promptly met by Claudio as we exited the Jewel of the Seas. Claudio told us the history of the city of Messina, the port where we arrived as we were leaving. Apparently Messina was destroyed by an earthquake and tsunami in the early 1900s. Claudio then drove us to the town of Taormina. As we got closer to Taormina, Claudio pointed to places where The Godfather films were made. He provided us with the backstory of the movies. Claudio also pointed out Mt Etna, which by the way is still active with smoke billowing from the top. Claudio made us aware of the three baby volcanoes taking shape alongside Mt Etna. Along the way we were able to stop and take pictures of Mt Etna and the coast. In Taormina, we had plenty of time to shop and eat. After Taormina, we drove to Castelmola. This drive was also very scenic. Castelmola is a very beautiful town. Nice for pictures, grabbing a bite or coffee and shopping. The roads to Casteloma are very narrow and windy. We were so happy we were in a minivan instead of a large tour bus. One large tour bus held up traffic on both sides for about 10 minutes because the driver could not navigate the turn. On our way back, we stopped briefly in Messina for pictures. Claudio knew how to make our trip memorable. I highly recommend Discovery Tours Limousine Service when traveling to Rome and all of Italy. This is my third time utilizing Gilberto services. He has made our tours in Florence, Naples, Amalfi Coast, Sicily and Tuscany Wine Country absolutely wonderful. No big tour buses ever for me. Gilberto makes every stop a dream without the hassle of 40 other people and walking long distances to get to a site. Thanks Gilberto and Claudio!!!!
