This tour is designed especially for wine & food lovers in order to appreciate the different options offered by the Chianti region and its main wine valleys.

Your tour/driver from will welcome you at the dock beside your cruise ship in Livorno at 08:00AM (suggested time) and will take you to the magnificent town of Florence.
You will stop a few minutes at Piazzale Michelangelo for a spectacular view of Florence, the entire Arno Valley, and the Ponte Vecchio crossing the Arno River.
You will have the possibility of admiring the Church of Santa Croce where Michelangelo is buried, “Accademia Museum” (Possibility of booking on request; closed on Mondays)
to visit the Statue of David by Michelangelo or to the “Uffizi Galery.” After the Museum, we will reach the main square of the city where you can see Santa Maria del Fiore,
the Cathedral, the Giotto bell tower, and the Baptistery. After, you can take a stroll along narrows streets, visiting Palazzo Vecchio (residence of the Medici family),
and Ponte Vecchio, which is famous for its “Gold market.” Your last stop will be in the Heart of the Chianti Region. You will enjoy a scenic drive in the countryside’s rolling hills
dotted by vineyards, cypress trees, olive trees and ancient Medieval villages, churches and abbeys, castles and fortresses. We will then visit a winery
for your tour and tasting session. The tour will start with a visit of the vineyard and the wine cellars, you will see where where the wine is matured, and later bottled,
while hearing some secrets of Tuscan winemaking. After visiting the vineyard and the cellar, take a seat at a wine glass–laden table, and sip on different glasses of wine
made by the estate. The varietals are subject to change, but typically a glass of Chianti Classico, Chianti Reserve, the eponymous Tuscan vinsanto (dessert wine) or a prestigious
white wine are served. Savor the complex and fruity flavors that are prevalent in Tuscan wine, and hear tasting tips and explain the characteristics of different grapes
that are used, while enjoying traditional Tuscan culinary samples. Your driver will be more than happy to suggest a nice little place, if you want to stop for a traditional lunch.
So you will round off your day dedicated to one of the most famous wines in the world, before returning to Livorno to wind down after such an exciting day out.
