Your English speaking driver/guide will attend you at the dock beside your cruise ship in Salerno at 8.00am (suggested pick-up time), holding a sign with your name on. Just relax and start your scenic drive along the Amalfi coast, be enchanted by the stunning views of the coastline with villages terraced into hillsides, luxurious gardens and villas. Today you’ll discover Sorrento, Positano, Ravello and Amalfi, four of the most beautiful villages along the Amalfi coast.

Sorrento is often thought of as part of the Amalfi Coast, but it’s technically not. It’s on what’s known as the Sorrentine Peninsula across the Bay of Naples. Sorrento is famous for its Marina Grande, Piazza Tasso and its narrow streets which are full of bars and restaurants. Sorrento is also great for shopping with a multitude of shops available selling everything from clothes to their famous lemons. Limonoro is Sorrento’s main pedestrian street. Lined with shops, this strip is the perfect area to grab limoncello, a lemon aperitif, or other liqueurs such as those flavored with fennel, almond milk, chocolate or licorice.

Positano, even known as the vertical village, is situated in a panoramic position on one of the most marvellous stretches of the Amalfi Coast. The jewel of the Amalfi, Positano, has long been known as a playground for the rich and famous. Listed by UNESCO as one of Italy’s fifty World Heritage Sites, it is renowned as one of the key places for any tourist to visit. Your driver/guide will drive you to the city centre of this unique litte village of the Amalfi Coast, giving you some fee time to explore the hidden little roads of the city centre. Be sure to visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption. The 18th-century interior of the church is filled with light that reflects off of the refined white arches and dome with their gold accents. Your driver/guide will be happy to suggest some typical italian restaurant in the area for an authentic Italian-mediterranean meal or according to your wishes and needs.

Ravello, located at the top of the Dragone Valley, really seems as though it is a town, and a garden, at the same time. Enclosing endless numbers of amazing views, and examples of traditional architecture, the beauty of Ravello has been charming travelers, and artists of all nationalities for centuries. Some famous artists who have visited Ravello are, Boccaccio, and Wagner, as well as many others. Here you will have the chance to visit the dazzling Villa Rufolo, a favorite destination of musicians, artists and poets, praised in the verses of Boccaccio and in Richard Wagner’s Parsifal. Before leaving be sure not to miss the splendid Villa Cimbrone from where it’s possible to marvel at the magnificent views of the Bay of Salerno.

Amalfi, was once a prosperous maritime city-state, and its rich history starts a few steps from the beach (take an historic walking tour for maximum impact).  Amalfi is famous for its picturesque lanes, there for you to explore, and tiny boutiques overflowing with traditional products local to this region, including Amalfi’s famous after-dinner limoncello liqueur, colourful ceramics, and hand made paper.

At the end of the tour you will be returned back to the port with plenty of time before ship’s departure, glancing one last time at the mesmerising sceneries which you will keep as memories that will last a lifetime.

This tour can be also scheduled from the port of Sorrento or Amalfi, length is approximately 9 hours in total and is conducted by an English-speaking driver/guide that will not enter sites but drive you around and show you places, pointing out things while explaining what they are, as well as stopping at the places that require a visit and helping you access them.
